About SHP
Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is a registered national charity whose mission is to end child bedlessness and ensure that NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN!
The most profound way to end the national crisis of child bedlessness is to unite the country in one common goal of building the most amount of beds possible and getting thousands of children off the floor. And that is the story behind SHP’s National Build Day.
Bunks Across Canada 2021: SHP’s second annual National Build Day
Bunks Across Canada is an annual event where local chapters across the nation participate in the largest bed building event in a single day. Through local and national sponsorships, SHP is able to put a real dent in the national child bedlessness crisis. Our first build in 2020 was small – 2 chapters participated and with the help of over 75 volunteers in Winnipeg and Sherwood Park they built over 100 beds in total. Over 100 deserving children in those respective communities now sleep in beds of their own. Over 75 volunteers participated in BAC build and each build offered real opportunities for dozens of local sponsors. These sponsors enjoyed the benefits of local and national exposure, provided service opportunities for employees, and felt the joy of serving their own communities. This year we are excited to announce that Lowe’s Canada will sponsor our Bunks Across Canada 2021 and we hope to have 4 or 5 chapters participating.
BAC 2021 will take place on SATURDAY, September 11, 2021, and SHP’s goal is to build over 150 beds with up to 100 volunteers, and we need your help to make it happen. So save the date and join us for a memorable day of joy and community service!
How do I volunteer?

What does a typical BAC sponsorship look like?
Our corporate-sponsored Bunk Bed Build Days are the perfect event if you’re looking for a service opportunity for your organization and will make a permanent difference in your own community. There are two BAC sponsorship categories:
Local Sponsorship
- Recognition on local news and social media
- Community awareness
- Volunteer, networking, and team-building opportunities
- Learn valuable trade skills

National Sponsorship – $50,000 Minimum
- Featured on SHP marketing collateral, website, and build day t-shirts/banners
